As an Infrastructure Engineer, I am results-driven with a proven track record of delivering advanced technical problem-solving and effective leadership in IT operations. My areas of expertise include strategic planning, change management, and overseeing IT systems and security.
With extensive experience managing Azure, Hyper-V, Windows Server, Veeam Backups, SonicWall firewalls, and Intune, I have successfully led server upgrades and migrations on all our VM's including SQL databases, Sage & Payroll, Domain Controllers, File Servers etc. that were crucial to the growth and success of my organization. In addition, I have developed and implemented security policies that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring the secure operation of critical systems.
My skills in managing BCPs and DR plans have been tested and refined through my experience in ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery in high-pressure situations. Through effective communication and collaboration, I have built strong relationships with team members and stakeholders, earning a reputation as a trusted and reliable partner in IT Operations.
In 2023, I'll be focusing Cyber Security awareness training for staff and on obtaining accreditation for Off to Work in ISO27001, 9001 and Cyber Essentials.

As the IT Systems Administrator, I, along with the IT manager, provided comprehensive 1st and 2nd line support to a team of 90 staff, ensuring the seamless operation of all business processes and systems across the entire company. Additionally, we had support from a third-party MSP that provided 3rd line support.
Through my role, I gained a deep understanding of the company's operations and effectively managed the IT systems to support the organization's growth and success. My commitment to delivering high-quality support and my ability to work collaboratively with teams in all departments made me a valuable member of the organization.

Honours Degree Final Year Project – Fixed Charge Processing System “Traffic E-ticket”
The purpose of my Honours Degree Final Year project, "Traffic E-Ticket," was to enhance the process of issuing and paying police fines by developing a more efficient Traffic ticket processing system. The system aimed to reduce errors caused by misplaced or mis-captured fines, while also providing an electronic platform for offenders to conveniently pay their fines. The project utilized various resources available in Google Firebase, such as FireStore DB, Functions, and Storage, to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
Basic REST API in Python hosted on Cloud Resources
The objective of this project was to develop a basic REST API using Python, and host it on a virtual machine with Microsoft Azure cloud resources. The API was designed to access data from a cloud-hosted SQL database, providing a reliable and secure way to retrieve and manipulate information. By leveraging the power of Azure resources such as virtual machines and SQL databases, the project aimed to demonstrate the scalability and flexibility of cloud computing for developing and hosting web applications .
SQL Database of PC World shopping e-commerce site
The objective of this project was to build a e-commerce site, I built a web application based on PC World in Ireland that incorporated a variety of SQL operations, including triggers, procedures, joins, and functions. The goal was to design a highly efficient SQL database that could effectively manage and process large volumes of data related to customer orders, product information, and other relevant aspects of the e-commerce site. By leveraging advanced SQL query techniques, I was able to streamline data access and retrieval processes, resulting in improved website performance and enhanced user experience.
